Emma is almost like her old self, though older and lacking confidence. She still lives with me because she is not able to be an independent working member of society, yet.
She goes out with friends, has an occasional part time job, and even took and passed her drivers license test recently. This was after years of prodding and pushing to read the book. Better late than never, and she did it!
I hope this update brings hope to others that have family members who have fallen apart. When I compare Emma’s behavior to the same period last year, and then the year before last, it is miraculous. The power of the body and mind to heal itself.
Please believe. It can happen. I predict that Emma will be the one watching over me in about 20 years, when I am an old woman unable to take care of myself. That makes me chuckle. In delight.
